Declare: I Am a Carrier of God’s Peace!

Our kids carry the peace of God! We want our kids to realize that no matter what storm they encounter, no matter what is going on around them, they have God’s peace. His peace is not just so they can make it through the storm, but so they can shift the storm and change it!

Sometimes Christians think God’s peace is just so we can make it through the storm and survive. But if you pay close attention to Jesus during the storm, He shows us something different. The disciples were freaking out and thought Jesus didn’t care that they were perishing. Jesus gets up, rebukes the storm, and says, “Peace be still.” Jesus releases the peace inside of Him to the storm around Him. The peace of God isn’t to just make it through the storm and survive, but so we can create heaven on earth and shift the world around us!

Once I was on a flight and we were about to experience crazy turbulence. I hate turbulence, I've flown all over the world and I still hate it! On this particular flight, when we were about to encounter turbulence, God challenged me to change my perspective...

Watch this video as I tell this story and unpack this truth:

In a nutshell:

  • The peace of God crushes satan under our feet, calms storms, guards our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, and it’s an offensive peace—it destroys chaos!

  • Where we put our focus is important! Thankfulness brings increase.

  • No matter the storm you are in, God’s peace is powerful to transform it!

  • As I prayed and focused on God’s peace, I started to declare that there would be no turbulence and the pilot is going to come on and apologize and say there was no turbulence after all. And that’s exactly what happened!

The peace of God is powerful! We need to remember what the peace is for.

I want to remind you, no matter what storm you’re in, whether it’s in your government, in your head, in your relationships, in your families, become aware of the peace you have. Start to release it. Give thanks for the peace you have, multiply your awareness of it so you can release it! If you’re aware of God’s peace you’re not focused on the storm, and you can release His peace to change the storm. We need our focus to be on the peace of God and what it’s capable of!
