Jesus Is Interrupting Fear
As a parent, there’s nothing that can make you worry as much as your kids, right? One morning I was up reading my Bible, and I saw something I hadn’t seen before of how Jesus handled a dad’s fearful situation.
In Mark 5:21-43, Jairus approached Jesus on a boat. He knew that if he could convince Jesus to come back with him, his sick daughter would be healed. Jesus agreed and traveled towards Jairus’ home.
On the way, the woman with the issue of blood touched Jesus’ garment and was healed. As they left that crowd, Jairus was told that there was no need to continue on; Jarius’ daughter had passed away. Jesus overheard what they said, and immediately said to Jairus, “Do not be afraid, only believe.” We know the rest of the story; Jesus goes to the house, kicks out the mourners, and raises her from the dead.
Here’s what caught my attention. When the bad news got worse, and fear tried to creep in, Jesus interrupted it. In the very moment that words were spoken that would cause fear He stepped in and said, “Do not fear, only believe.”
I declare that over your circumstances. Is there anything you’re worried about with your kids today? Today, before fear seeps into your heart, before it can even get to you, Jesus will interrupt it. Jesus is going to repair your circumstance. Even when things seem to be getting worse or hopeless, only believe. Jesus is interrupting all fear!
